In these light strewn modern caverns
Where the beauteous ones all meet
Dance their own beloved rituals
In search of chemical release
Would the fabled gods of old
Swoop on the denizens within
Seek in alcohol’s pure succor
Bids for relevance and sin?
Moving slowly through the melee
Rhythm caught in each heart beat
Is this now a friendly stranger
Or Mephistopheles we greet?
And were Faust to gain dominion
By the bartering of his soul
We’d see this whirling sea communion
Could engulf his Devil whole
Ah! This beauty is so fleeting
And its offerings darkly pure
As it speaks of something older
Some disease without a cure
So in entering this club-land
Certain rules you must obey
If you’ve come to find your soul mate
If you’d see the break of day
Symbol stamped upon our wrist now
Lets you enter, lets you leave
Dance your dance of wild abandon
Find sweet solace should you grieve
But the beautiful have spoken
Only their kind let within
To this nightly competition
No mere mortal yet can win.
