Electric

We speak on other frequencies
I hear you coming through
A spirit flickers in the breeze
It’s something it must do

To travel on the web of light
A power surge must flow
Dimensional the bird takes flight
Through secrets that we know

Mind to mind we find we meld
With true complicity
But in the end its only sparks
Through electricity

Destined

Take this ring this day and know
The secrets that we here bestow
The destined path that you must see
The learnings which you must follow

Wear it proud until you see
The weave within complexity
Until you do not know of fear
And cleave to what you now must be

Let it take a day, a year
Learn this broken hemisphere
Speak this once, both fast and slow
Till the ritual is clear

Take this ring this day and know
How a child must stretch and grow
In this fellowship you’ll see
What you here must reap and sow

Dream

The dream came again
This galactic tsunami
Crashing upon my shore
I tossed in my fear
Sweating inside this
World cataclysm
Going ungently before

No more the horsemen
Pale death a rider
Pointing to something unseen
Tidal wave coming
Nothing can stop this
Inevitability
Crashing in purple and green

The dream came again
A dark prophecy
Or just my poor mind
trapped in its fear?
A swelling of water
When there’s no shelter
Or mercy here left to find

Comfort

You were like
A warm cup of cocoa
To the depths of my winter
You were light
A candle strong beaming
Through the darkest of nights
You were kind
In all this cruelty
A shining mercy in the crowd
You were like
A warm cup of cocoa
When I needed it most

You were comfort
Through endless weeping
A shoulder much stronger than mine
You were wisdom
While I ran hopeless
Seeking the answer to life
You were simple
Inside complexity
Guiding my ship to the shore
You were like
A warm cup of cocoa
Just when I needed you most

Inspiration

Electric light
A moment of pure
understanding
Comprehend
the universe
in a single raindrop
on your cheek

It’s magic
Oh so simple
Flying to the light
perfect and free
Make connections
in the network
See the truth of
reality

Familiar

My familiar is beside me in the night
She is a feline, stretching, pawing out of sight
She carries many names and none are mine
I will know all her secrets in good time

My familiar is a companion in the dark
If I would be the flame then she’s the spark
If I would tread the path then she’s a guide
She is nothing if I’m nothing here inside

My familiar black as midnight, blue as sea
She is something, she is different here to me
But she’s melding in the inner hue and weave
Just my friend that I will never lose nor leave

Dripping

I’m dripping truth
I’m tripping, proof
of something great
behind the veil

Green fairy grins
I end, it begins
to dip and sway
to sleet and hail

I’m swirling round
In the air, on ground
Hallucinate
A devil’s here

I’m soaked in lies
Another’s prize
Before this gate
I have no fear

Before this gate
I have no fear

Rapunzel

Rapunzel did you let it fall
Your golden hair
Right to the ground?
Your freedom in your dance will tell
The story that you’ve hidden deep
And as you roam the fields will we
Be opened to the secrets
That you keep?

Rapunzel did your lonely prince
Call at your door
And bring a rose?
You walk alone now so we see
The lover has been left behind
And as you’re beautiful could we
Yet here believe that
You’d be kind?

Rapunzel did the years you weaved
Your golden locks
Bring any peace?
There’s something brittle in the air
The floating splendour of your hair
And if they fell, your lovers
Just as martyrs here
Would you still care?

Astrolabe

So you think you can read
The stars in their flight
The transit of Mars
Is uneasy tonight
As the astrolabe turns
The universe burns
Out of sight

You’re such a technician
These things that you know
One half magician
Above and below
But its all on the wheel
And what can you feel
Turns too slow

So you think that you know
Where the heavens begin
A matter of science
Not faith, love or sin
Your knowledge will grow
But it’s what you don’t know
That will win

Desolate Ones

We are the desolate ones
Left behind as debris
We cling to walls
Where all is peeling, peeling away
We haunt such hallways
As strangers never seek to walk
In empty rooms we are ghosts
Left only now
To haunt ourselves
And nothing more

We are the desolate ones
Heaven will not yet acquit
Our gathered sins and let us in
From smoother passage are we barred
We stumble blindly, clawing walls
Till even our abode is scarred
By all that we have been
And now by what we are
We haunt ourselves
And nothing more
