Triple Threat

One part murder
One part love
One part mind

Triple threat
Like a Cerberus
Just behind

I’m Persephone
Rising up
From the dark

Triple threat
It’s just summer
Just a spark

I’ve been following the trends
I’ve been making my amends
When required I would bow
Could it be I’m trending now?

I have followed all the rules
Made friends here of kings and fools
All that fashion would allow
Could it be I’m trending now?

I’m always a step behind
Followers follow, you will find
Only some the stage allows
Seems I can’t be trending now…

Snow Swept

hello, December!

hello, December! (Photo credit: Shandi-lee)

Snow swept princess
Raising her hands
Cotton gloved
Pure white
To shelter her
Pretty face
Of the wonder
Not a trace
Not a trace

Snow swept princess
Gazing out
Snow covered glass
Brittle day
Tremors beauty
Once removed
If she’s guilty
Nothing’s proved
Nothing’s proved

Forever Now

time

time (Photo credit: Judy **)

May we have forever now?
Before the light of youth
Has dimmed our eyes
Or the touch of love
Has lost its sighs
May we have forever now?

May we have forever now?
A moment captured
In all time
To give this poet
A true rhyme
May we have forever now?

May we have forever now?
May our age
Prove like fine wine
A greater bond
A stronger twine
May we have forever now?

This Charming Man

This charming man
Means you harm
This charming man
Is nought but charm
I do not wish
To cause alarm
But for his sickness
There’s no balm

This charming man
Takes brides to death
His secrets hidden
On his breath
And all who follow
Are then bereft
The ones he’s loved
The ones he’s left

First Desire for Prompt 34 ‘My First’

A road inside the Matheran Town

A road inside the Matheran Town (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

If I try very hard I may recall
Days of innocence
Before wit and eloquence
Before confines and conformity
Before knowledge of who I was
And yet may be
Within the world
Of my small family

I may recall
The person that I once could be
The first face that I wore
When standing, waiting at my door
The ancient call of wanderlust
Bit deep, and deep in me

That first desire was to move
To make the world my very own
I scampered from my cloistered home
And down the small town streets I’d roam
Defiant and alone

My parents no doubt worried, fretted
Of my little life
How much I regretted?
I didn’t have the concepts
Too soon to have the words
To yet explain
I ran not away
But somehow ran towards….

Towards…..I know not what
Just something that I never got

Now years have passed
And wanderlust
Has wandered far from me
My days are quiet
Lived in my home
A perfect symmetry

But if I try so very hard
When gazing in my mirror long
I’d see the little child peek out
The one who travelled to belong
Her first desire was just to know
And sing her own pure song

For mindlovemisery’s prompt ‘My first’ at: http://mindlovemisery.wordpress.com/2013/12/15/prompt-34-my-first/

It made me remember the child I was but can scarce now recall, let alone believe was me…and yet…she was…..

Too Many

Too many years
These pleasures pall
Just salty tears
Then none at all
I seek to climb
Only to fall

Adrift in dreams
A nightscape bright
On weary lids
Mere hope alights
But as I reach
It’s out of sight

I think on God
As lost in time
Indifference
The greatest crime
No reason left
Within the rhyme

Too many days
I wake too soon
The morning dark
Bleak afternoon
My melody
Has lost its tune

Too many years
I prayed alone
Too many sins
Left to atone
And no-one calls
My telephone

And no-one calls
My telephone…

We Sisters Three

Fates tapestry

Fates tapestry (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

We sisters three
Silently weave
We’ve woven joy
And webs to grieve
We sisters three
You don’t believe
That we are here
You self-deceive

We sisters three
Are old as life
We gift you blood
We cut the knife
We sisters three
With dangers rife
Can generous be
Recording life

We sisters three
You cannot see
But we see you
And so we weave

Elegance

English: Elegant Woman at the Rail

English: Elegant Woman at the Rail (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I wish that I had elegance
I wish that I had grace
I wish I had charisma
A strong, arresting face

I wish that I was fashionable
I wish I had elan
I wish the glitterati
Bowed at my command

But I am somewhat awkward
I never learned the style
I haven’t got the dress sense
To make designers smile

I’m waiting for my moment
My invitation to the dance
If only for one moment
I could know elegance

Omega

Ouroboros (Uroborus)

Ouroboros (Uroborus) (Photo credit: Leo Reynolds)

I am weary of the alpha
So long ago
Such beginnings are forever
Build too slow

I am waiting as omega
At the end
And death and all his retinue
Are my friends

I complete this like a snake now
Swallowing my tail
All the power and the mystery
I’d curtail

I am weary of the alpha
Beating heart
Knowing after the omega
I once more start
Even though I’d rather stop now
Once more start….
