I am weary of the alpha
So long ago
Such beginnings are forever
Build too slow
I am waiting as omega
At the end
And death and all his retinue
Are my friends
I complete this like a snake now
Swallowing my tail
All the power and the mystery
I’d curtail
I am weary of the alpha
Beating heart
Knowing after the omega
I once more start
Even though I’d rather stop now
Once more start….

Oroboros
Exactly! Or is that the correct spelling? Either way, amazing symbol of the cycle of life… 🙂 🙂
Ouroboros, Uroboros, οὐροβόρος, ὄφις Yes, I spelled wrong. Cyclic. Yes. Good time of the year to be reminded of this. Thank you, Helen. As a writer you consume your self to create your self.
I wasn’t meaning to say you had the wrong spelling, I was asking if I did!! There do seem to be so many ways to spell that word I’m honestly not sure what is correct! 🙂 🙂
I think they all are correct. It is a very old idea. Your choice of spellings is most correct. 🙂 And I do think you should use the impetus that inspired this poem to work on your third novel. 🙂
Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
A new beginning… wonderful.. I can also associate the alpha male… those arrogant beast that own the world..
Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
This is all Greek to me. 🙂
LOL, thanks!! 🙂 🙂
Beautifully represented Helen. Note the symbology of the Celtic knot exemplifying the same principle for us Irish guys. Greatly enjoyed and appreciated.
Thanks Mike!! 🙂 🙂
Well done, Sis! 🙂
Thanks Skye!! 🙂 🙂
