Dissolution

Faith dissolves and recreates
A fleeting bird
Do you see?
On the wings of a prayer?

Desolation calls for more
A distant twin to hope
Do you hear?
Remembering this day?

Abject we may fall
To ancient crosses now
Do you feel?
Against this pallid sky?

The past gives way to day
Dissolution, new beginning
Do you walk?
On shifting, wafting sands?

The bird of peace here formed
On decay and danger’s field
Do you fall?
Or fly defiant yet?

Winged bird of faith still flies
Beneath such birth we pray
Do you rise?
To see you full alight?
