A Pre-Emptive Apology To My WordPress Family….

Hi

From time to time I’ve said my work life is mad. Trust me, it is. But for the most part I had a schedule to allow me to blog regardless of the hours and stresses of my work life – an hour before I go to work, an hour on return, and catching up with a few more – luxurious by comparison – hours on the weekend.

The weekends allow me to write and schedule poems far ahead, so even while it looks like my visits to WordPress remain constant and frequent – given I’ve scheduled two poems per day now to the end of 2013 in my scheduler – in actual fact it probably masks a gradually decreasing amount of time I’ve had of late to be here.

And given some major changes and challenges in the sector I work in now, and my role in my organisation, those hours at work will get even longer as a regular thing till at least mid next year I think. I will still try to keep a schedule of being here during the week but it may end up being confined to the hour before work more often than not during the week given I often get home too late these days to log on.

The reason I’m saying all this is that I do my writing and posting/scheduling on weekends, so during the week I basically just respond to comments and read the many blogs I love to follow, liking and commenting wherever I can. So if my working week time is limited, my interaction with the community becomes more limited.

So I just want to say – if it feels I’m neglecting any of you I promise I’m not. I will try to keep up with all you wonderful work as best and as frequently as I can – it’s the most amazing enrichment of spirit in an otherwise work-obsessed world for me – and I’ll try to keep my original visiting schedule wherever I can but if I fall by the wayside a bit more than usual over the next 6-8 months please bear with me. I promise I shall be with everyone in spirit!!!

I need a TARDIS…and the 10th Doctor…that’s basically the size of it. If someone can send me those, then I’ll be more visible – if not, please forgive me in advance!!

Two poems a day? All I can do is quote Shakespeare: “A pitiable ambition in the fool that uses it!”

    • Ah Malcolm, are you calling me a fool – perhaps I am! It was just a discipline for writing I put in place though I plan to drop back to one per day at most for 2014 as my work life will get more busy before it eases off. 🙂

  2. Take care of yourself Helen. Wow, you must be incredibly prolific to be able to schedule two poems a day for the rest of the year – incredible! Hats off, I must say:-) Blessings, H xxx

    • Thanks so much – I tend to write in batches on the weekend then schedule them, hence how far ahead that gets. But it does mask the act that I have less time now to be here during the week…

  3. Good luck. Hopefully things calm down a bit. Life seems to always get in the way some days.

  4. aloha Helen – every life goes through cycles. sometimes the cycle quick. sometimes over years. it’s okay to be in the cycle you (we) are in when we are in it. I too have had a limited presence over the last several months. imo, do what you need to do and be here when you are able to do so. and of course keep moments of fun in your daily life too. aloha.

    Blessings,

  6. LOL I think we could all use a Tardis but don’t worry, we’ll all be here for you regardless, whistling and waiting 😀

  7. Skye says:

Helen, please just take good care of you. That is all that really matters. You will be in my thoughts and prayers daily. Love you so much, Sis!!! 🙂 If you need an ear ever, please do not hesitate to email. xxxx 🙂

  8. Solothefirst says:

Even a little time is still time if you use it wisely… Oooo too deep? We’ll if you find the 10th doctor I doubt you will have time for us ha ha and rightly so. But you will still be around. Hopefully work won’t be too awful but I guess at least we will still read your wonderful poetry since you are so far ahead! Amazing

  9. I know how you feel Sis… working full time and fulfilling personal obligations…. I’m surprised I can write as much as I do…

Take care of you and everything else will happen when its meant to. Hugggs

  10. Brenda says:

Watch out for your health, and continue if it makes you happy. Your poems are a joy, as are your visits, but you must worry about the long term, not the short. 🙂 Best wishes, Brenda

  11. Such is life lovie. As much as we love reading your poetry and your interactions with us, do what you need for yourself. *hugs*

  12. ksbeth says:

  15. utterly amazing – you are so organized you even scheduled an apology in advance – I am humbled by your life management skills

  16. philipparees says:

You set yourself very high barred commitments…We can probably live on stored rations while you take yourself a needed rest! You are always more than generous and we would not have you burn out.

    • Thanks Philippa – the poems are scheduled so will keep coming, but I will probably get to the blogs less frequently for the next few months until Christmas at least I think…such is a working life! 🙂 🙂
