My memory of you
Is in soft focus
I can’t recall the colour
Of your eyes
I think I gave you beauty
Your life couldn’t realise
My vision of your face
Is in soft focus
And there’s something I can’t trace
In the curve of cheek and chin
I think I gave you symmetry
And virtue for your sin
My memory of your smile
Is in soft focus
Perhaps it’s only that
I so rarely saw your joy
I think I gave you gentleness
Not befitting such a boy

As time passes we do wonder about past friends and lovers. i like the concept of the soft focus, how time does blur images. Well done Helen, you do create magic with words.
