Cinematique

She had mystique
Cinematique
Famous directors
Brooded on her face
But of such passion
Never a trace
Never a trace

She was sympathetic
Cinematique
But for their yearning
She felt not a thing
This bird barely spoke
And never would sing
And never would sing

Not one to critique
Cinematique
Her time on the screen
Was a flickering sign
There but for a moment
And not by design
And not by design

  1. Greta Garbo eh A beautiful woman. And a lovely poem Helen, very engaging. Liked it.

  2. Great poem. Sounds rather sad and mournful. I only recognize the name, so I’m not sure how it fits.

  3. Ah the magical Ms Garbo – like the repetitiveness ~ you brought it home 🙂

  4. Ohh love the nostalgia…

  5. Beautiful poetic portrait.

  6. exquisitely done – she was enigmatic, and my mother’s favorite – still have her 90 year old
