I need silence now
In silence I can breathe
In silence my inner eye blinks
And awakes
I need solitude
Wrapped within my brittle skin
I can dream
And then begin
In solitude
I crave gentleness
A softest touch, a brief desire
Then all is lost
Within the fire
Of pure gentleness
I need silence now
But one word disturbs the veil
And a melody will linger
Like a secret, not belonging
In silence

Beautiful poem Helen we can all relate to the need to embrace silence from time to time. I like that in your poems you so often create an excellent final stanza and this one is no different.

It is in silence the heart of God speaks to our hearts! I believe! I love silence, and quiet time and this lovely remembrance of silence. Have a wonderfully silent day!
