Opium?
You chase the dragon
Into sleep
Seek his wings
Flaring with fire
That he breathes
Chemical?
No! Try spiritual!
Make you yearn
Once to fly
With real dragon wings
Into morn.

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

I love dragons! I have since I was a little girl and read Anne McCaffery’s books. This poem was great π
Thank you, yes, dragons are great! π
You really capture the beauty and power of a dragon in this poem. Even better, you do it without pushing the image on the reader.
Thank you so much, that is so kind! π
Natural highs are the real deal.. Nice one π
Thank you, I agree! π
If anyone want’s to nominate her again for the dragon-related awards, I suggest now is the time.
great poem as usual π
LOL..thanks…I guess dragons are a bit of an obsession of mine, LOL. π
Well, I’m still trying to figure out the symbolism here. I’ve got three messages so far, drugs, meditation and the dragon (can this mean dreams via either drugs or meditation?) Back in the 60s the song Puff the Magic Dragon was all about drugs. A spoof of it was featured in the movie Meet the Parents. Funny. Hilarious in fact. So anyway…am I close? LOL
Yep, very close..it was kind of an anti drugs message…like spirituality and meditation/mysticism gives a better high than chemicals…but it was written so you could take other things from it if you want. π
