Waiting on the breaking storm
To steal the humidity
Of the day
Clouds hang as though anticipating
Movement across an impatient sky
All is so still
Not even leaves
In neighbourhood trees
Seem willing to rustle
Disturb the moment
The air is a tease
Promising un-delivered relief
A lifting of oppression
And a chance to truly breathe.

a really nice picture of a hot day.
Thank you so much! ๐
I’m liking this one a lot too! It’s nice and short, but says so much, with the feeling of a tranquil day, in every way! ๐
Thank you! ๐
I especially enjoy the final four lines. They could stand alone in my opinion. Dave
Thanks so much! ๐
Hi,
What jumped out at me were your closing lines, and I quote, “A lifting of oppression
And a chance to truly breathe.” How could we shift our perspective so that we are able to breathe in new thoughts and intentions to be able to tackle the oppression around us?
Shakti
Thanks Shakti, its fascinating how nature can be so illustrative of the internal processes of people isn’t it – I didn’t concsiously intend to talk about both but your insight is very revealing, thank you so much!
It’s beautiful. Well done!
