Thank you so much for having me on your blog, Helen, and for helping me launch Eternal Road – The final stop. I know you have a lot going on, so I appreciate you taking the time to help with. The launch. Let me describe the book. Eternal Road is the story of two people finding their way through the selection process leading to the place where one will spend eternity. Yes, it is true. They both have passed away. James Wainwright just died in an auto accident. Samantha Tourneau died seventeen years before. Sam is James’s guide to help him decide where to spend eternity. This is not your usual thriller or paranormal romance. It is a piece of fiction that is a combination of inspiration, adventure, time travel, sci-fi, a touch of erotica, and a dash of spiritual. In short, it is a lot of things, but hopefully, a story that will make you happy to have read it.
It is now available on Amazon in paper and Kindle. The Kindle edition is introductory priced at 99¢ until October 15th

The blurb.
James Wainwright picks up a hitchhiker and discovers two things 1. The woman he picks up is his childhood sweetheart, only Seventeen years older. 2. He is no longer of this world.
James began a road trip alone in his 1956 Oldsmobile. He stops for a hitchhiker only to discover she is his childhood sweetheart, Sam, who disappeared seventeen years before. James learns from Sam falling asleep miles back caused him to perish in a one-car accident. He also comes to understand that Sam was taken and murdered all those years ago, and now she has come back to help him find his eternal home.
The pair visit a number of times and places and are witness to a number of historical events. The rules dictate that they do no harm to the time continuum. Trying to be careful, they inadvertently come to the attention of Lucifer, who would love to have their souls as his subjects. They also find a threat to human survival and desperately need to put in place the fix necessary to save humankind.
The question becomes, will James find his eternal home in grace or lose the battle with Satan for his immortal soul and the future of human life with it? If you like time-travel, adventure, mystery, justice, and the supernatural, this story is for you.
An Excerpt
By the car, Sam leans down to check on James. She opens the door. “You okay?”
James looks up. “Oh, yes, I was just looking at my cell phone.”
“Why?”
James shrugs. “It pinged, so I thought a text had come in.”
Sam snickers. “You know that’s impossible. We’re not of this world, so how could you receive a text?”
James holds the phone out to her. “Okay, smart one, take a look.”
Sam leans over and then takes the phone from James’s hand. Sure enough, a text notification shows an unknown sender.
James urges, “Go ahead and open it.”
Sam places the device back in James’s hand. “It’s your phone. You open it.”
James rolls his eyes but studies the message. “Want me to read it aloud?”
“Sure, if that makes you feel better.”
“It’s time we met formally. I have much to discuss with you. Text 666 with a time and place.”
Sam puts her hand to her mouth. “666? Is he crazy? That’s the sign of the Devil. Lucifer just messaged you.”
James drops the phone onto the seat. “Oh, man, this gives me the creeps.”
“The creeps? I’ve never heard of the Devil sending texts to potential converts.”
James’s eyes open wide. “You think he sees us as converts?”
“I’m not sure about me, but since he has your number …”

My old DL # ended in 666 and when I wrote checks at stores, some folks refused to touch it. Another great excerpt, John!
Hahaha. I can imagine the look on a clerk’s face. Thank you for stopping by today, Teri.
Wonderful piece, John. There’s a lot to love about this one, including her reflecting that it was his phone.
Yeah. Sort of gets her off the hook. Thanks, Craig.
She hopes it gets her off the hook.
Hahaha. Hard to tell with the Prince of Darkness.
The devil texts? That’s kind of awesome. You know, in a terribly chilling kind of way. And (as usual) loved the end of this excerpt. Great work, John.
