I Remember

I remember her most he said
In the last moments of spring
She hovers as a memory
Of every good thing
I remember her smile
And how she would sing

I remember her best he said
In the depths of my heart
The endings so silent
Yet there from the start
We were most together
When farthest apart

I remember her last he said
As I drift into sleep
She’s there in the darkness
Infathomable deep
All the best of my life
And the secrets I keep
