The Moment

This is the moment of choice
Can you define the possibilities or listen
to that nagging inner voice?
To fly or tumble into the void
Does it rely on luck or destiny
or just the random collection
of all you have been and could be
are you imprisoned now or free?

As fear trickles through your soul
chilling blood and electrifying
all your sinews with thoughts of living
finally dying
Are you alert and so alive
You will not just survive
But emerge victorious
yet to thrive?

This is the moment
The precipice yawns before you, bored
of waiting for your final steps
Into the chasm as it claws
Will you belong to it or is it yours?
A final hurrah
Or the first thrilling sound
Of universal applause?
This is the moment
And the cause

About helenvalentina

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.
