Deep Silence

This deep silence of morning
Starless sky before dawn breaks
Blanketed in dark and calm
An island to myself
I seek a comfort long forgotten
In the weave of black and grey

Dreams adrift and quickly floating
Lover’s kiss a brush
Against my chilled, smooth cheek
Memories a retreating cacophony
Only in my waking mind

Like some secret I’ve misplaced now
The promise of these moments
Tantalising on my tongue

Like a traveller still weary
From a journey undiscovered
And the day has just begun

This was very sweet, it meant a lot to read these thoughts you have. Thanks for sharing your journey and the happy memories, too.
