Digging Deep

Delving in the past
To find our future
Little rest
And far less sleep
We were digging deep

Our ancestors’ lives
Create a blood link
Running thick
Down mountains steep
We were digging deep

Is your forbear
In your furrowed brow?
If so what
Secrets may you keep?
We were digging deep

Alien am I
To your true being
What I know
From digging deep
And we were digging deep
