Fractured – for Prompt 54 A vastly important secret

Oh little ones I felt the fall
The splintering among you all

As heavens opened I espied
The way you wailed, you fell and cried

What once was One had to rebel
And what this brings the brave don’t tell

Oh little ones that once were great
In being many, many hate

Oh little ones I feel your pain
This unity you must regain

But see your souls are split apart
And each a beating, living heart

This lucifer is shards of light
Your choice to breed this barren sight

Oh little ones, you’ll pray and cry
To yet return here by and by

Oh little ones I felt the fall
The splintering among you all

I went with something kind of biblical/religious, the choice of the Fall and a secret of the humanity arising from that. It’s a fictional theory, but nevertheless…. 🙂

  1. I thought you captured the biblical feel very well Helen. The pleading need for restitution worked well for me. Well done.

  2. sounds a bit like Plato’s theory of the fall in Timaeus, where he argues men and women were originally of one sex, but were split in two by some higher power in order to be made dependent on each other and to learn from this experience.

Very well done… insightful. Most people miss that the biblical word sin comes from the root word for separation… the split apartness from others, ourselves, reality, God….
a nice touch with the caring language….

  4. This is positively spectacular Helen very well articulated theory XD

  5. Love, love, love! Every word and line. Simplistically profound and beautiful.x

  6. Lisa says:

    Nicely Done!
