Winter Rose – for Prompt 38 Tender Love

These hands I will now clasp to yours
My cheek soft upon your cheek
I’ll stare the very tempest down
And gather all you seek
So in this precious moment
Your sadness is complete
I’ll take from you each drop of grief
And lay here at your feet

I feel it, every darkened wrench
That tears upon your heart
I’ve plumbed your very depth of loss
When hope and light depart
But gathered now within my arms
I’ll buffer from the storm
So winter’s pale and truest bud
Can yet have bloom, be born

I’ll tend to every unjust wound
To blood give perfect balm
I’ll stride alone through hell itself
To save your soul from harm
So may it be on some sweet morn
Your days more blessed be
For this and more I have now sworn
To love you tenderly
