Lower back too stationary
Too long
Upper back moves, repetition
Too strong
Imbalance now is at the centre
Can’t last
Every word that I have written
Too fast
Sinews and creation’s drive
Don’t bend
Any wisdom drawn from age is
No friend
Yet you’re forced to still create
To write
You’ll regret this very soon
All night
I am servant to the muse now
Can’t deny
Lured back before this screen to
Yet try
To find balance in my day
ItΒ seems
The vigour that I knew in youth
Just dreams
When this novel is complete
I’ll rest
See this stamina is only
A test
And it seems all sense and reason
Forsake
When the final thing I find is
Back ache

I’m busy writing a novel but I find my back is layingΒ siege on me. I am at war with my body in the need to create so this prompt was very timely for me!! π
Hmmmm…you and your back, sad that it will govern so much of your activity. Keep on at the book though i will be worth it though your back may well disagree. Have a good day.
Thanks Michael, hope you have a great day too! π π
I feel for your Helen and I can relate my back and eyes want to give out on me. Sending you healing vibes =) Fantastically done!
Thanks so much!! π π
=)
I understand completely. For me, it’s the back and the knees. But we have to do what we must when the muse calls.
Yes, we must, the muse will wait for no-one!! Thanks!! π π
I have had back problems since getting tossed out of a car at 21. You need a good chair, right height desk and a real good pillow behind you. I know you know, but in case I’m just saying. I feel your pain every day.
I have one of those saddle chairs and my laptop sits on a box to be at the right height, but I think any set up, if sat at too long, can be an issue! Thanks for your comment and sympathy!! π π
Ouch. π
Yep, that about sums it up!! π π
