I weep not for my fallen friends
I know I’ll join them once again
When life has lost me to the veil
We’ll gather, walking on the trail

I’ll raise a glass to see them true
As all our friendships we’ll renew
This war is but a blemish on
The shining faces of these sons

In other lifetimes we’ll be free
Inheritance of liberty
For these great goods my friends here fell
And their true honour I will tell

When I am old I’ll slip this world
To greater love my soul unfurled
I weep not for my fallen friends
I know I’ll join them once again
