This lilting lovely melody
Brings summertime and warmth to me
It floats like gossamer above
It speaks of friendship and of love

The ripples in the minor key
Bring back such sublime memory
A touch of wistful sadness true
Brings depth and richer textures, hues

It’s been so long since I recall
This movement rising soft, then fall
This melody that clears my heart
Is where true love’s desires start

This lilting lovely melody
Reminds me of a youth so free
Reminds me when I once was sure
True love would follow, perfect, pure
