They come at night
They bite
They’re shuddering
With sin
A wraith, a ghost
They boast
They’ll take us all
We’ll fall

Intruders deep
They creep
I cannot weep
Nor sleep
I cannot breathe
Please leave
I’ve paid the cost
But lost

They come at night
They bite
Their darkened glow
Won’t go
They’re so near
I fear
They come at night
They bite

Great imagery. I agree with words4jp, “heebee jeebees”. Each reading, it would evoke a new potential.
