When shadows thicken
Along the wall
When music is swelling
Clarion call
When soldiers are marching
And death has a bride
We need to cling on to
The sunny side
When hope lies so broken
On the floor
When all life is taken
They still take more
When gloom’s your companion
A negative pride
You need to find your way to
The sunny side
All wrongs may be righted
All ills healed
All secrets that fester can
Be revealed
Old grudges can mellow
No tears cried
If you only will walk to
The sunny side

I am reminde of the ‘sunny side of the street’, But I do like the idea of looking to the positive in spite of the ills that surround you. Well done Helen beautifully captured.
Yes, it is like that song…I just saw the quote ‘sunny side’ in a magazine and the poem came from that! 🙂 🙂

Very true, thanks Roxi!! 🙂 🙂 xxx
I could almost hear Vera Lynn singing that to the troops in London, England during the 1940’s Blitz or Comedians Morecombe & Wise dancing off the set of their TV Show while singing it LOL 🙂
