Sheltering Wings

Archangel Michael from Nidarosdomen

These sheltering wings
Encompass the world
With promise and hope
All flags unfurled
To make discord unity
To nourish the soul
Give light in the darkness
Completes now the whole
These sheltering wings
Perfection of goal

A wing span of light
Beyond human measure
A fluttering presence
Beyond earthly treasure
To heal those with sickness
And mend grieving hearts
Make gentle our memories
When darknesses start
These sheltering wings
No soul kept apart

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

  1. I love angel stories Helen, the idea of a presence that is there to protect us. Enjoyed this very much.

I like it Helen. Check out my angel comic strip on the top of my blog if you are curious about my interpretation of angel’s help. Thanks for a very well put angel poem. If you don’t mind, I am going to reblog this..
