I’ve had enough of you
In with the new
I liked the dark and cold
But now it’s stale and old
Your cynicism charmed
For moments there disarmed
But it’s dull to my view
I’m calling in the new
I want orange, red, not blue
In with the new
Your palate was restrained
Like darker crystal stained
I loved that for a time
I thought it quite sublime
But now those tones eschew
I’ve had enough of you
In with the new

[ Smiles ] Oh, this was rather enjoyable.
Nicely done, Helen!
Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
Hmm Helen we do grow and change don’t we. I had this sense of the love we have some people does begin to wane and we want something new, then again it could be the natural progression of time where we stop doing the same old and look for the new. Thought provoking as always.
Thanks so much – it was just inspired by seeing an article in a magazine titled ‘In With The New’, so it’s beginnings weren’t profound, but it’s fun to make something with meaning out of the essentially random sometimes… 🙂
Out, damned spot! 🙂 I like this HV.
Thanks so much Eric!! 🙂 🙂
Wow. So this is how the magazine trick turns out….brilliant!!! 🙂 xxxx
Yep, absolutely, this is a magazine wording inspired poem!! 🙂 🙂
how pleasing it is to eventually get rid of the grub and grime, though at first alluring with an ‘edge’ how we grow weary of it. Liked a lot Helen. 🙂
Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
