Artist

Be for me
an artist of my memory
These shining links
which fill the void-less universe
are only you
Your hand which binds
enchains me in your brittle grasp
Sweet Eros on the hunt
throw out your snares
for I will be entrapped
and I will not beware

My mind a canvas
waiting artist paint and vision
Love me fiercely
from a distance, stern
With each revision recreate me
a dancing fool for you
on heaven’s spool for you
Whirling dervish on the stage
which you create

Be for me
an artist of my memory
Wipe this slate clean
tabula rasa to create
a vital, spiritual energy
enhancing sexuality
reducing all duality
Although you’re never touching me
you stand aloof my artist
Artist of my memory

  1. ‘An artist of memory’ what a wonder conceit to consider. Again a great pleasure to read your words, and I often think what a wonderful discussions could be had around a table about your work.

  2. “Love me fiercely
from a distance” love love, gorgeous poem Helen =)
