Mirror

Mirror ! Mirror on the wall !

Mirror ! Mirror on the wall ! (Photo credit: ihave3kids)

If I held a mirror
Closely up to you
Could you see yourself
Could you witness true?
Could you see the dissonance
Tween what you say and do
Could you see yourself
Could you witness true?

In your world a heroine
In your world so brave
In your world the weaker
Ones around you saved
But can you see truly
How you treat them grave?
The bully, not protector
Not the one who saves?

Your image in the mirror
Is not the face you know
I believe you are sincere
I believe you do not know
But all who ask you questions
Are those you overthrow
Your image in the mirror
Is not the face you know

So can you be accountable
For all the things you do
Projecting all your darkness
On all here now but you?
I think inside you’re broken
YouΒ cannot see this true
To witness in the mirror
Would be the end of you
