Sadness

Distant

Distant (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I am a sadness without name
Tears are unshed from blue grey eyes
I am a candle without a flame
Dull recognition without surprise

Disconsolate dreaming without an aim
Where is the sky for this bird to arise?
Where is the child that this woman became
Where is the truth in this cobweb of lies?

I am a darkness no-one would claim
I am the contest bereft of a prize
I am a sadness without a name
I am the truth you won’t realise

  1. I feel this……….

    huggs.

  2. ‘I am the truth you wont realise’ powerful conclusion Helen. This is a poem where i get the sense of the persona reaching out, pleading almost, excellent work.
