Debt

I owed a debt to my dear friend
For faithful loyalty to the end
I say this once, once more again
I owe a debt to my dear friend

My friend in turn will owe to me
Accord that’s drawn from loyalty
In this concur, in this agree
This faith in turn is owed to me

I owe a debt to my dear love
To all the gentler feelings prove
As though by angels up above
This oath I swear to my true love

My love returns my feelings true
As only lovers faithful do
And hark it seems the heavens knew
My love returns my feelings true
