Under parched earth
the seed of health and hope
slumbered, waiting
the moment to arise
The sky above so bleak
seemed bent on sadness
yet held within
its sweet surprise
That rain will fall eventually
and open joyful eyes
The deepest battles
are within the heart and skin
Our bodies reflecting
chaos of time
The wars we fight
a testament it seems
to our defiant rhyme
But to this field our heroine will come
bring joy sublime
Fly as a god blessed bird
free of these aching bonds
free of the hunger from
deep defeated pain
Spread joy and health
with just a simple smile
as you return to us again
And as the victor from such ravaged days
sing your sweet refrain
Because now, in so many ways
we need your sweet refrain

That should say thanks for rebloging… π
I was in the middle of teaching a class when I saw this pop up. I can honestly say this is the first time I have gotten so choked up that I couldn’t speak. This means more than words can express. Thank you, that does not seem enough, but it is what I have.
More than enough – thank you for being you, being healthy, and giving me faith back in the universe!! π π
