The digital clock is slow
It lies through its reddish glow
Insomnia is beating
A deathly, stalking blow
You struggle in the sheets
Your worries incomplete
One moment you are cool
And then you’re slammed with heat
You stare at walls around
In shadows they abound
As though your sleeping self
In prison, runs aground
And daybreak comes too late
To this alleviate
You’ve counted all the sheep
Two thousand through the gate

I hate insomnia.
Me too! Luckily I don’t suffer from it a lot, but when I do it is most vexing!! 🙂
I don’t have it often either, but it’s very frustrating when I do.
Insomnia is the worst….glad you don’t get it very often. You describe it very well. 😀
Thank you!! 🙂 🙂 I get a minor version of it often – the sort of two or so hour insomnia that comes at about 2am when you wake up and your brain switches on and obsesses about work…till you tire yourself to sleep some time later. But full on insomnia, I’ve only experienced that a few times in my life, thankfully! 🙂
What a coincidence! Reading this post while on an insomniac night-out! 😛
Lovely words! 🙂
Thank you!! Hope you find sleep soon and escape the insomnia!! 🙂
Haha! So be it. 🙂
Exactly!
Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
great description! I deal with this all to often 😦
