Leaf

Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves (Photo credit: Kameramanden)

A moment
Stretched into years
A sigh
Smothered by tears
A glance
Drawn to a gaze
A child
Lost in a maze

And you
Darkness and light
Shadows
Waft through the night
A lie
Spoken as truth
Evidence
But never proof

And me
Wondering why
Intrigued
Obsessed then to try
Not lose
But lost in the game
Emerged
Never the same

A moment
Not what it seemed
A nightmare
Born of a dream
A leaf
Tossed and turned in the stream

Just a leaf
Tossed and turned in the stream

For some reason it reminded me of “The umbrellas of Cherbourg”. Amazing.

A tapestry of words. I think I resemble that leave lately! lol this stanza really spoke to my heart:
    “And me
    Wondering why
    Intrigued
    Obsessed then to try
    Not lose
    But lost in the game
    Emerged
    Never the same”
I think I need to quite playing the same old game 🙂 Thank you for this poem, Helen…thank you xoxo
