A taste upon my lips
A sweet nectar of the soul
A tantalising flavour calls
To consume this pleasure whole
From the first moment of delight
To the last morsel on the tongue
We renew our nature’s source
From this feeding we’ve begun
The epicurean avows
That through food our soul is born
So the best of recipes
From life’s pages must be torn
And I surely will attest
To sweet nature’s bounty blessed
And to you, my welcome guest
I serve only of the best.

Delicious literature ❤
Thank you! I wrote it when I was hungry!! 🙂
This could be a totally “non-food related” writing as well. You wove it well.
Thanks so much – I was hungry when I wrote it but there’s nothing wrong with allegorical hunger too!! 🙂
this looks amazing and your words were delicious as well. bravo –
Thanks so much!! 🙂 🙂
Helen…..I loved this. Once again, you take me right into your mind….and it is a wonderful place to be.
Thanks so much! The only thing missing in the food photo was the chocolate icecream! 😉
Yummy =)
Thanks!! 🙂
ummmmm what time is dinner being served??? (grins)
Yep, writing when you are hungry tends to head in a particular direction I find…then I found the photo…LOL. 🙂
Look at all that sushi, I can definitely eat that whole plate all by myself!
When I make sushi, I tend to make a lot. For the four of us, we usually eat through 100 sushi easily! I guess you can tell I like sushi, huh? 🙂
Yep, I think you like sushi!! Mind you, so do I…love all japanese food actually. 🙂
All that food! And the poem. Good thing I just had dinner, lol. (Otherwise it would have been bye bye diet).
LOL…yep, as I said a couple of times I was hungry when i wrote it, then I found the photo and all willpower was gone for me!! LOL. 🙂
Loved that last line ^_^
You wrote this so beautifully Helen.
Thanks so much!! 🙂 🙂
