Sleep Disturbance

When I dreamt of you
two nights ago
it made me sick

I wondered if
the sickness made
me think, and therefore
dream of you

I am not sure
But then this terrible news
I am told
You will be soon
in my midst again
if only for a short time

Please god
let the dream
be a memory
not a prophecy

Stop invading my sleep!
It has been so long
and I was so well
to be rid of you

I’m left only hoping
it isn’t only dreams,
but that nightmares also
Don’t come true….

Ah, yes. I know this feeling all too well. Great poem!

    • Thank you!! I’m sorry to hear you – or anyone else – knows this type of feeling well because it is so damn disturbing and uncomfortable to feel, but thank you so much for reading and commenting and for the fellow feeling!! 🙂

Powerful! It’s like I can feel the hatred toward this other person, this being. Great job describing how this particular person keeps popping up in your dreams. Ahh nerve-wracking! Jeepers-creepers! 🙂

    • Thank you! Yes, it is creepy. I still feel sick thinking about it days later but I thought writing the poem could exorcise that a bit. Its like a form of PTSD with regard to this individual. I guess we all have those sort of people in our lives sometimes and they leave an indelible, dark mark on our psyche.

  3. very dark. i like the poem and hope all goes well for ya.

  4. I know this feeling well. When some dreams have tendencies to appear in real life, they are all under suspicion.

  5. Some people you live to remember, some people you live to forget. Hope this does not become a recurrence. Well wishes for a peace of mind.
