Sense Memory

Body wash in coconut and lime
Soothe away all the days woes
So sublime
Trick the mind
With sense recollection
Of simpler times

A moment
Of complete mindfulness
When I stop
I pause
Between acts, thoughts
And dreams
And simply be

And how this simple aroma
Rises up to me

Where does my body end
And this smooth
Silken sensation begin?
Not carnal or primal
But pure

This scent takes me to
A childhood
I perhaps never
Really knew
And through this perfect
Glitch in time
I am renewed

    • Thank you so much! that is so kind! I will check it out properly on the weekend as I am crazy busy at the moment. If I don’t have time to follow it through please know I really appreciate the thought, but as I said I’ll try to find time on the weekend (this week is so insane I’m falling behind in everything and barely have time to come back to my blog to reply to kind people like yourself who comment. πŸ™‚ )

  4. sense perception is hard to capture. You’ve done a great job. I could see, hear and smell what you described. Very nice.

The first line “body wash in coconut and lime” sounds so soothing. I’ve been to the Caribbean and it seems they have coconut in just about every product. I love the smell. I brought back some suntan lotion from the islands and whenever I use it I’m brought right back to those white sandy beaches in the tropics.

  7. serene and beautiful! πŸ™‚
