Return

I always return to you
In the end
Steadfast you wait
Patient and calm
You know how I am
Wanderer in my soul
But I always return
To you

I know I came from you
At the start
You are my kin
Under scale and skin
But you know how I am
Independence’s child
Still I know that I came
From you

I’ll always return to you
At the end
When dusk is closing
Like life winding down
You know how I am
Wanting to come home
And I’ll always return
To you

Reminiscent of the last lines of Involution? Have just read them at a good friend’s funeral. Hope you are well and things are good?

    • Ah yes, just a soul thing for me in this poem so it would resonate with involution though I wasn’t consciously thinking of that when I wrote. Things are fine with me. Hope all is well with you. 😄😄
