The Coming

She is coming
Born of ravens
Psychopomp descending
To the terrain

Breath is icy
Eyes are fire
Bleak and lost
Are her domain

Ancient creature
Youthful beauty
Brings despair
And scarring flame

Few will know her
Few can view her
Even less may
Speak her name

Chills run down my back, great writing

  2. I LOVE this! It’s very…kind of…almost…”Poe”-etic. (I mean that as the highest form or compliment. And perhaps the worst sort of pun.)

  3. Enjoyed this very much. Thank you.

  4. A delight to read this poem and I learn an unfamiliar word .. psychopomp.
