Moon Kissed

And the moon kissed the ocean
The briefest flirtation
Reflected light spilling
Across the dark, rolling waves

And the ocean blushed deep blue
Drawn into moonly madness
Tidal waves a siren call
Answered in the night

And the moon kissed the ocean
A second, lingering time
Like a promise of the breaking dawn
A lover’s wistful caress

And the ocean opened wide
To swallow moonly love whole
So dawn could not steal away
Its lovely, strange delight

  1. What comes first Helen, the pictures or the poetry? Either way, you meld them perfectly every time 😀

  2. I love how you started this poem Helen and then rounded it off so well. Lovely poem.

  3. Love this astropoetry. 🙂
