Stitch In Time

She said we should be like
A stitch in time
Not a moment too late
Or precipitate
Not a memory too lost
Or bitter cost
Just the perfect moment to strike
A stitch in time

She said the game was all
A stitch in time
Not an overdone song
That takes too long
Not some lost strategy
Or foolery
Not a forsaken siren call
A stitch in time

  1. A stitch in time saves nine, I always had trouble with that one, getting my head around its meaning, but it comes from sewing doesn’t it, about getting things right so you don’t have to waste time and go back and fix up a mistake. I love how your poems evoke my memory and off I go……Merry Christmas Helen, have a great day.

  2. Merry Christmas dear Sis! May the coming year be all that you want it to be, filled with love and laughter always 🙂 xxxx
