I’ve been watching you
I’ve quite a singular view
Across the laneway by design
All things come to me in time
This prism that refracts the light
Brings me your secrets every night
I am always watching you
And there is nothing you can do

I record your days
Your habits and your little ways
Like a holograph you dance
Beside your cupboards and your plants
This prism is my data source
As through my blood such secrets course
I am always watching you
And there is nothing you can do

  1. ‘There’s nothing you can do’ reminds me of the situation of not being able to escape, maybe the persona never wants to let go of a loved one. Either way a fascinating poem Helen.

    • Thanks Michael – a glimpse into a stalkers mind basically, via a kind of sci-fi/ psychic link type thing through the prism…meant to be dark and kind of hopeless and sinister. 🙂 🙂

  2. I love the part about dancing by the cupboards especially =) Happy Holidays!
