Olympus Falls

White House Front

Olympus falls these days
But incremental degrees
Each country’s governments
Abject, on their knees
So rife with ill-intent
Than none can please

The gods of old are gone
They neither care nor know
Of petty battles here
Of regimes overthrown
Our leaders so child like
Their souls not fully grown

Olympus has no shame
Its stature is reduced
Our minds manipulated
And all our trust induced
And so these halls are for
The most banal of use

Olympus fallen grace
What have our choices done?
The hallways empty here
Not even demons come
It’s true in this sad year
That our last race has run
