Trust

Trust

Trust (Photo credit: return the sun)

This sweet weaponry I give to you
With whispered confidences true
Please do not use or misconstrue
If I should ever part from you

This trust I show is deep and strong
Your heart a place where this belongs
My secrets are my gift to you
Such power I cannot undo

So should I ever scar your heart
Or with dark words should I depart
Please hold these close and don’t reveal
Or exploit then the fears I feel

I’ve shown you where my soul could break
Please never make this my mistake
And so this promise I give free
To keep your secrets similarly

So let neither of us fall to grief
For tender moments of belief
Revenge and power we abstain
So intimate our truths remain

Like most people, I have a number of sides to me. The most interesting one probably emerges through my writing, hence this blog. I love to read, and also to write, and so this is a way to share both.

  1. Lovely Helen. We go through life in various stages of trust I think. There are so we implicitly trust, never doubting that trust and there are other to whom we do doubt the reality of the trust they suggest exists between you. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Trust should NEVER be broken, it is an even greater gift than unconditional love πŸ™‚

  3. It is so true that when trust is broken, your soul truly breaks. This is spot on and perfect, as always!! πŸ™‚
