Byzantium

May as well have been
In Byzantium
All history’s glory
Lost in tedium
Of the lost but free
Let me be the one
To have finished what
I have just begun

All hyperbole
And such drama here
Might just be the weather
At this time of year
But I feel this quest
Can you set me clear
So my life and purpose
Does not disappear?

May as well have been
In dark Egypt’s land
Building edifices
Time and tides withstand
Rather that than here
Where all hopes and plans
Seem to run aground
Where they just began

  1. Finding one’s true path in life Helen, sometimes a life long quest, but part of the fun is discovering the bits that do work. And of course meditating on the bits that don’t.
