Recovery

The day dawns less grey
Less oppressive seems the sun
And lights that lead the way
show simpler pathways here to run
Your name is not a beating
repetition in my heart
No image of your leaving
haunts each day now as it starts
I check but cannot feel now
your essence in my bones
Iโ€™m content and do not notice
the silent telephone
Recovery was gradual
as silently it grew
A miracle of time now
and one I never knew
