Don’t Pursue Me

Don’t pursue me
You’ll go mad with it
I say to you
It happened
To all the others
It will happen to you
Delirium
And terror
You won’t see true
The prohibition is so defined
It must be strong
There’s someone else
Or something else
To whom I belong
Don’t pursue me
You’ll go mad with it
I say to you

Don’t pursue me
It will destroy you
I cry
I’ve seen it so
Many times
Each time I nearly die
Your fantasy
Your need for me
Left high and dry
Possession will always be
In the beholder’s eye
I’ve been this way
For all my years
Don’t pursue me
It will destroy you too
I cry

  1. Gosh this is good. I have often said I should come with a warning label! Approach with caution! 😀

  2. Some what prophetic Helen. It reminds me so much of the image I have of women fleeing from me, probably in terror, trepidation. Lovely read this morning.

    I love his one! xx

  4. tsk tsk at Michael for starters! I think all of us have a little sign ‘Warning Warning’ for certain aspects of ourselves.

  5. Skye says:

Someone once warned me against themselves…Actually, they could have written this. .I should have listened! Next time, I will heed all the signs. 🙂
