Warrior headdress fit for a God
Eyes slit behind steel
Fears emerge, submerge, congeal
This glittering morning as we rise
Reclaim all our death-soaked battle cries
Warrior headdress, archangel wings
Sombre in solitude
Refracting darker attitude
The elements severe but at your command
We wait upon word of your dread, darkling plan
Warrior headdress, alien aspect strong
Devils, dervishes dancing
Tremble, savagery lancing
our sides, oh so vulnerable to unseen spears
The graves we build, awash with our tears
Warrior headdress, carved for the divine
Featherlike tendrils catching
the lost souls we are snatching
Returning the sons to the slumbering earth
Back, back to the source of all living birth

For mindlovemisery’s latest prompt at: http://mindlovemisery.wordpress.com/2013/11/10/prompt-29-rorshach-test/
I’ve copied the picture she used as theΒ RorschachΒ prompt so the poem makes sense. π Well, I hope it at least helps it make sense, I suppose one can never know what others will see in a Rorschach picture!!
so beautiful! always love reading your stuff
Thanks so much!! π π
Isn’t that picture from Dead Space 2? While reading your poem I can vividly think about the atrocities & the things that the main character of the game has gone through. Well written. Nice style. Keep safe & stay awesome! π
I don’t know where the picture is from – its the picture mindlovemisery used for the prompt, so I suppose it could be from where you suggest. I just looked at it and saw a warrior’s headdress…not sure what that says about me really, but that’s what I saw LOL!! π π
Haha. I think it says that your a fighter & no matter how many things life throws at you, you never back down. Maybe that’s what it means. Hehe. Keep safe & stay awesome! π
Thanks!! π
Great Poem! The picture addition brings it into focus and brings the words into a visceral visual of their own… π
Thanks so much!! π π

I am really enjoying seeing everyones take on this image. Love where your mind and writing went. π I see it…beautiful words to accompany it as well.
Thank you!! π π
inkblot test?
Yep, thanks!! π π
The poem speaks of chaos, but the rhyme gives each line a symmetry, like the two sides of the ink blot.
Thank you!! π π
I enjoyed the repetition in the 1st lines. I also think it is saying that you are a fighter ~ well done Anja ~ certainly a wonderful prompt – many ideas flowing π
