Best Case Scenario

Best case scenario
You are gone
You’ve found another food source
To feast upon

Best case scenario
I am free
You’ve been satiated, had your
Fill of me

Best case scenario
Co-incidence
Brings you to my streets now, a
Lost presence

Best case scenario
You soon depart
No more predation left
Upon my heart

  1. These best case scenarios i wonder are wishful thinking or a means of escaping the world, though I do relate to the final stanza, to be rid of the parasite that may be sucking the life from us. Very thought provoking Helen, sorry if I sound a little harsh.

The first case scenario makes me sad because you know once they are done hurting you, they move on to hurt the next…most times you cannot warn them. This was excellent, Helen!!

Love it; the pattern, the voice, the message… Great poetry.
