You’re like a pineapple
Rough on the outside
Sweet within
Prickly your hide dear
Sharp and hard your skin
Let me cut you open
Let your juices flow
The sweetness in your soul dear
Is what I yearn to know

  1. Wow this is a metaphor the savour, hmm….what you have to say is exquisite, cutting through the tough exterior to reveal the sweetness beneath. Well done Helen.

    • Thanks, it comes from sitting in a juice bar at the airport writing poetry to fill in time and looking around for inspiration and seeing pineapples on the counter, LOL…but once the metaphor came I was very happy with it! 🙂

    Tart, sweet and complete!

  3. I love this Helen so endearing =)

We should all try to see beyond rough exteriors to the sweet insides. 🙂 Worth a shot anyway!!
