Dragon Song

I hear the softest melody
Above my bed head canopy
Its lyrics will encompass me
And from its call I’m never free

I heard it when I was a child
The call of hunger and the wild
And you may say I’ve been beguiled
But in my soul I’m reconciled

I live to hear this dragon song
The only place I can belong
My heart beats steady, true and strong
And I will never see this wrong

I hear the softest melody
At night he comes to comfort me
And I will love him endlessly
My dragon deep within the sea

  1. Great poem. I think I like this more because I’m editing a chapter that involves a dragon.
