Still

Still photography terrifies
Pinned like a butterfly
To the wall
A moment in time
Captured forever
No hope of revision
Excision
To this perpetual vision

It was but a moment
Fleeting expression
Trace of a smile
Just gone
And the shadows fell
Portentous
On my cheek

I’m in the headlights
Not just flash lights
And all that’s coming
Down the tracks
Is reality
In its sheer cruelty
No escape now
From the facts

lol….are you talking about those self portraits you had done? I remember what you went through…seems like it felt like this to you. I am here to tell you, though, that you look beautiful in them. If this is not what you meant, then nevermind…but, you still are beautiful!! 😀

    • I write my poetry then post it up to six weeks or more ahead of when they publish on the blog so I wrote this back just before the photo shoot, LOL! Thanks dear Sis!! 🙂 🙂

lol….I remember thinking…oh my, what could she possibly look like. But, I knew it….your are gorgeous. 😀 Your face reflects that mind and spirit within. Hugs, Sis!!
